Girls Basketball Strikes Early in Win Over Blue Streaks
Sarah Lairson scored a game-high 18 points to lead Louisville to a 56-35 win over visiting Lake in their home opener. Alexa Oberster dropped in 9 points as the Leopards improved to 1-1.

Zach Fresenko finished in second individually to lead the Leopards to their 3rd District Title in 4 years. Noah Chaplik took 3rd, Noah Murray 4th, and Nick Chaplik 6th.
The Leopards went on the road to defeat the Aviators 4-1 on Tuesday and the Blue Streaks 5-0 on Wednesday to improve to 6-5 on the season.
Louisville went undefeated in downing Crestwood 25-19, 25-13; Lake 22-25, 27-25, 25-18; and Kent Roosevelt 25-19, 25-9 at the Lake Quad Saturday. JV also went undefeated.
The Leopards blanked the Blue Streaks 5-0 in the opening round of the OTCA Tournament winning 4 of their 5 matches in straight sets. Louisville has now won 7 straight against Lake.
Grayson Beamer and Jax Leonard each ran in touchdowns during the Leopards 3-0 scrimmage win over the Blue Streaks. Sam Macro also recovered a fumble late in the game that would have gone for a score.
Max Hartline caught a 25 yard touchdown pass from Brody Hahn, Sean McKinney scored the game winner, & Hannah Baughman became the first female player to score in the Leopards 16-14 scrimmage win over the Blue Streaks.
Sierra Townsend placed 2nd and Abby Beaver took 5th individually as the Leopards placed 1st out of 20 competing teams at Sable Creek.
Sierra Townsend set a Lady Leopards Team record by shooting a 34 as Louisville defeated Lake & Minerva 161-176-190 in the season opener. Abby Beaver, Alexis Beaver, and Felicity Adkins also shot personal bests.
The Leopards drew the 14th seed and will travel to face the 8th seed Cardinal Mooney Cardinals on Thursday, May 19 at 7:00 PM in the opening round of the DII OHSLA Boys Lacrosse Northeast Region Tournament.
