The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team shutout the visiting New Philadelphia Quakers 3-0 on Senior Night Tuesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville has now won 4 of their last 5 games and improves to 7-6-2 on the season.

Swope Gives Leopards Lead at the Break

After a 37 minute stalemate, the Leopards finally broke through with 2:45 remaining before halftime. Hudson Barthel centered a pass to Kadan Swope who booted the ball into the back of the net to put Louisville ahead 1-0.

The goal was the fifth of the season for Swope and it was Barthel’s third assist for the campaign.


Burton Scores Twice in 53 Seconds

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLater on in the second half, Carter Burton scored a pair goals in a span of 53 seconds. He used his great ball skills to create space before blasting a shot off the goalkeeper and into the right corner of the net. Cale Lindner was credited with the assist on the goal that put Louisville ahead 2-0 with 14:27 remaining in the game.

The Quakers were called for a foul in the box less than a minute later. Burton converted the penalty kick to give the Leopards a commanding 3-0 advantage with 13:34 play. Burton has now scored a team leading 18 goals this season.


Foradis Records 4th Shutout

Louisville goalkeeper Giovanni Foradis recorded 2 saves on the way to earning his third shutout of the season. All three of Foradis’ shutouts have been registered at Louisville Leopards Stadium.


Louisville Wins 3rd Straight Vs. New Philadelphia

The Leopards have now defeated the Quakers in each of the past three seasons and are undefeated against New Philadelphia in their past five matchups overall. The Quakers won the first meeting in the series 4-2 back in 2019 and the two teams also tied 2-2 in 2021.

Louisville leads the all-time series 4-1-1 overall, which includes a perfect 3-0 mark at home in the series.

UP NEXT: The Leopards Boys Soccer Team will next host the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers in their season finale on Thursday, October 10. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM from Louisville Leopards Stadium.

The Leopards Boys JV Soccer Team shutout the visiting Quakers 4-0 Tuesday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville JV is now 8-4-3 on the season.

Cale Lindner scored a pair of goals in the first half and Maddox Mayle added a pair of goals in the second half to lead the Leopards.

Justin Keister and Mason Ivey combined for the shutout in goal. Keister tended the net in the first half and Ivey closed out the shutout working the second half. Ivey also registered an assist on Mayle’s second goal.

Louisville JV has now registered 7 shutouts on the season.
