Lady Leopards Take 4th at Midwest Classic – Girls Golf

The Louisville Leopards Girls Golf Team competed at the Midwest Classic Tournament Saturday Afternoon at Skyland Pines Golf Club. Louisville shot 338 as a team to finish 4th out of 15 competing teams.
Erin Strouse shot a team low 79 and Katie Bice also carded an 81 to lead the Lady Leopards. Strouse tied North Canton Hoover’s Grace May for 9th individually for the tournament. Bice finished in a 5-way tie for 11th individually as well. Madison Gruber and Alexis Ralston rounded out the Louisville scoring by finishing with 89 each. Abby Davis also shot 93 as the only other LHS participant.
The New Albany Eagles ran away with the tournament claiming 1st place with a team score of 315. Kary Hollenbaugh led the Eagles by shooting 72 and shared co-medalist honors for the tournament with Magnificat’s Cara Heisterkamp.
New Albany finished 21 strokes ahead of the second place Green Bulldogs (336). Green edged out the Dublin Jerome Celtics (337) by a single stroke and Louisville (338) by just two strokes.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next compete at the George Valentine Invite on Monday, August 17. Tee-time is set for 10:00 AM from Brookside Golf Course in Ashland.
