Leah Claugus Shows Power In Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 Loss To Manchester Varsity Panthers

Leah Claugus hit two home runs and drove in two, but Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 lost to Manchester Varsity Panthers 8-4 on Saturday. Claugus homered in the second and fifth innings.
Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 lost despite out-hitting Manchester Varsity Panthers nine to eight. Claugus led Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 with two hits.
A solo home run to left field by Cassidy Perry put Manchester Varsity Panthers on the board in the top of the first.
Claugus homered to center field, which helped Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
In the top of the third, Manchester Varsity Panthers broke up the tie when Kailyn Eshbaugh hit a solo home run to center field. Then a home run to center field by Alli Hodgkinson followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
Saige Rankin hit a grand slam to left field in the top of the fourth for the Manchester Varsity Panthers.
Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 made the score 8-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Bailee Griffith homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Claugus hit a solo home run to center field.
Perry earned the win for Manchester Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher gave up nine hits and four runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking none. Taylor Schneider took the loss for Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on five hits, striking out five and walking three.
Griffith and Claugus were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025. Kaitlin Twinem stole two bases. Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 turned one double play in the game. Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 didn’t commit a single error in the field. Addy Campbell had the most chances in the field with six.
Rankin went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Perry led Manchester Varsity Panthers with three hits in four at bats.
Louisville Leopards Varsity 2025 welcome Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers on Wednesday for their next game.
