The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team fell to the Jackson Polar Bears 9-2 Thursday night at Kent State’s Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 7-6 on the season.

Louisville Varsity Leopards had trouble keeping up with Jackson in a 9-2 loss on Thursday at Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium.
Louisville Varsity Leopards opened the scoring in the second after Cody Zahler singled, scoring one run.
In the top of the third inning, Jackson went back into the lead after Yoder flew out, and Szymanski singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Grayson Brunoni hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Louisville Varsity Leopards tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.
A sacrifice fly by Morron gave Jackson the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth.
Trevor Burick stepped on the bump first for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher allowed six hits and six runs over five innings, striking out four and walking five. Folk started the game for Jackson. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two.
Leadoff hitter Zander Triplett led Louisville Varsity Leopards with three hits in four at bats. Zahler and Brunoni each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jake Beard had the most chances in the field with five.
Jackson tallied 10 hits in the game. Szymanski and Oaks were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Jackson. Szymanski went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Jackson had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Folk and Macalaso led the team with two free passes each. Oaks stole two bases. Jackson stole seven bases in the game. Jackson turned one double play in the game.
Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game against Waynedale on Friday.
