Tallmadge Winter Classic: Louisville 62, Tallmadge 51

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball got back to in-state action with a 62-51 victory over the host Tallmadge Blue Devils in the featured game of the Tallmadge Winter Classic Wednesday Night at Tallmadge High School. With their seventh consecutive win, Louisville is now 7-1 on the season.

Marshall & Nigro Lead Leps with 15 Each

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdJunior guard Ashton Marshall and senior guard Hayden Nigro each scored a game high 15 points to lead the Leopards. Junior forward Brayden Gross also poured in 14, junior guard Tate Aljancic reached double figures with 10, and junior point guard Beau Siegfried tacked on 8.

The two teams were all knotted up at 14-14 when the first quarter buzzer sounded. Marshall would hit 5 shots from the field in the second quarter as Louisville outscored Tallmadge 18-11 in the period to take control of the contest.

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe Leopards doubled their 7-point halftime advantage in the third quarter as they pulled ahead 49-35 heading into the fourth. Gross led the way in the third stanza, matching his first quarter total with 6 for the period.

Louisville would roll to victory in the fourth quarter despite being edged 16-13 by host Tallmadge. The Leopards would make 5 of their 7 attempts from the charity stride in the final quarter to help ice the game. Nigro would finish 5 of 5 from the free throw line for the evening and led LHS in the second half with 9 points.

Marshall was named player of the game after the contest.


Davis & Ewers Score 15 Each to Lead Blue Devils

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieJust like the Leopards, the Blue Devils registered a pair of 15-point scorers. Both junior point guard Kaden Davis and senior shooting guard Joey Ewers finished with a game high 15 points. Senior shooting guard Noah Jascoe also hit 2 of Tallmadge’s 4 three-pointers to end the night with 6.


Louisville Wins Third Straight Over Tallmadge

The Leopards have now defeated the Blue Devils in each of their past 3 matchups, including the last 2 on the road at Tallmadge. Louisville now leads the all-time series 4-3 overall and holds a 2-1 record over the Blue Devils when playing at Tallmadge.
