The Louisville Leopards Freshman Football Team shutout the host St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 20-0 Friday Evening at John Cistone Field. With the victory, Louisville is now 2-0 on the season.
Wide receiver Hayden Nigro caught a 7 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Keaton Rode and then returned an interception 76 yards for a pick six on the ensuing possession. The two scores came within 69 seconds of game time as the Leopards broke a scoreless tie in taking a 13-0 lead with 49.1 seconds remaining in the first half.
Louisville extended their lead to 20-0 on Will Ramsey’s 9 yard touchdown run with 1:52 remaining in the third quarter.
