The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team doubled up the host Ravenna Ravens 2-1 Thursday Night in their season opener on the Gilcrest Field smurf turf at Portage Community Bank Stadium.
Porter-Kovacich Scores in Varsity Debut
The Leopards got on the scoreboard first via a goal by freshman Dominic Porter-Kovacich, who was making his varsity debut. Sophomore Drew Dillen provided the assist on the play.
The Ravens knotted the game up by halftime on a first half goal by Nick Lurato.
Smith Scores Go-Ahead 2nd Half Goal
Louisville retook the lead in the second half when senior Austin Smith scored off an assist from sophomore Cam Young. LHS held that 2-1 advantage the rest of the way.
Leopards Vs. Ravens Boys Soccer History
The Leopards have now defeated the Ravens in each of the past two seasons and in 5 of their last 6 meetings overall. Louisville leads the all-time series 5-3 overall, which includes a 1-2 record in games played at Ravenna.
