Louisville Undone By Late Goal at Perry – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team fell to the host Perry Panthers 2-1 Monday Night at PHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 2-3-1.
Sydnee Shankel scored the Leopards only goal with 11:53 left in the first half. Hannah Baughman booted a free kick after a hand ball against the Panthers. Shankel headed it home for the game-tying score to make it 1-1.

The scoreboard did not change again until Perry’s Meghan Carpenter scored with only 2:34 left in the game to lift the Panthers to victory. Perry also scored earlier in the game via a goal from Hannah Leapline. Haley Harpoldt earned the assist on the play. The Panthers out-shot the Leopards 13-11 for the match.
The loss snaps Louisville’s 7-game winning streak over Perry and 9-game unbeaten streak in the series overall. The Panthers last defeated the Leopards 2-0 on August 22, 2007 at PHS. Louisville still leads the all-time series 9-3-1, which includes a 3-2-1 mark at Perry.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Minerva Lions on Wednesday, September 13. JV will start at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM.
