The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host Perry Panthers 58-54 in their season opener Wednesday Night at Perry High School.

Nigro Scores Game High 21 to Lead Leopards
Junior guard Hayden Nigro scored 12 of his game high 21 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. Sophomore forward Brayden Gross also scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half and senior wing Will Aljancic added 10 points to round out Louisville’s top scorers.
It was an even back-and-forth game throughout as the Panthers took a 9-8 lead over the Leopards at the end of the first. Louisville edged Perry in the second quarter to tie the game at 22-22 at the half and the score remained tied at the end of the third period 39-39.
The Panthers would prevail in the end, outscoring the Leopards 19-16 in the final stanza to take the opener.
Sabin Scores Team High 16 to Lead Panthers
Perry was led by senior point guard Zander Sabin who made 3 three-pointers and scored a team high 16 points. Zyiad Perry scored all of his 13 points in the second half for the Panthers. Senior shooting guard Joel Brown and junior point guard Peyton Wengerd also made 2 three-pointers each and reached double digits with 10 a piece.
