Louisville Routs Lake Center Christian 8-0 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team shutout the host Lake Center Christian Tigers in an 8-0 rout Saturday. With the victory, Louisville stays undefeated at 2-0-1 on the season.
Megan Hampe and Tapanga Smith each scored a pair of goals to lead the Lady Leopards. Other goal scorers included Jenny Hamsher, Morgan Keelan, Carley Andrews, and Grace Reiman.
Louisville scored 4 goals in each half and 5 of the 8 goals scored were assisted. Those recording assists included Hampe, Hamsher, Lia Meckel, Taylor Sharlow, and Gabby Smith.
Freshman Goalies Amelia Henderhan and Allison Kovach combined for the Leopards first shutout of the season on defense. Henderhan held the Tigers at bay for the first 60 minutes and Kovach finished them off in the final 20 minutes of action. They combined for 4 saves altogether.
This was the first meeting between the two schools since 2012. With their second straight win in the series, the Leopards now hold a 3-2-1 edge over the Tigers in six matchups. The series is now also dead even when played in Hartville 1-1-1.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next head south to play a road game against the Carrollton Warriors on Monday, August 26 at 7:00 PM.
