The Lady Leopards broke the school record for consecutive wins Monday night at Louisville Leopards Stadium after defeating the Lake Center Christian Tigers 4-1.  The win is their sixth straight as they move to 7-1 overall.  Rachel Baughman scored a pair of goals to lead the Leps and Lizzy Mont & Sarah Jaroszyk also added goals.

Louisville dominated the game out-shooting Lake Center Christian 37-2 and leading in corner kicks 5-0.  The Tigers stayed in the game via the play of goalie Hofer who had 21 saves and kept the game 1-nil until the 20:10 mark of the second half.

That’s when Baughman added her first goal  in the top left-center of the net.  Lizz Stefanik sent a pass that was headed by Baughman and angled off Halie Barton back to Baughman.  She then dribbled to the right around a defender and made it 2-nil.

Lake Center Christian cut the lead in half at the 14:08 mark, but Louisville answered with two more goals.  Stefanik launched a deep shot that bounced off the goalie Hofer.  There for Beatty's Sports Grey Louisville Athletics T-Shirtthe rebound was Jaroszyk who tapped it with her left foot into the goal.  The final goal came when Sami Keefe stole a pass and centered the ball to Baughman who kicked it into the far left side of the net to make it 4-1 Leopards.

Baughman also had an assist earlier in the game when her and Mont executed a perfect give and go play.  Mont received Baughman’s pass in the goal box and flushed it home for the score.  Louisville has outscored their opponents 31-14 here at the midway mark of the season.

For Coach Janine Hepler it was win number 21 of her coaching career putting her alone in second on the all-time list.  Only Sarah Morris (32-29-9) has a more wins than Hepler’s 21-18-3 mark.  To celebrate the win the Lady Leps passed through The Jungle student section tunnel that had been avid in cheering Louisville to victory all game long.
