Leopards Fall on Road After Blue Streaks Rally – Volleyball
Lake 14-26-23-25-15, Louisville 25-24-25-12-10.
The Louisville Leopards Volleyball Team fell to the host Lake Blue Streaks in a five set thrilling match 25-14, 24-26, 25-23, 12-25, 10-15 Thursday Night at Lake High School. With the loss, Louisville is now 14-7 on the year.
Lauren Siegfried was the Lady Leopards top server with 14 service points and 7 aces. Amanda Clark also had a team-high 23 assists and Paige Cole finished with a team leading 23 kills to lead the offense.
Defensive leaders included Sydney Bast with a team-high 18 digs and Kendal Loy with a team best 4 blocks.
The Lady Leopards came out of the gate strong earning a 25-14 victory in the opening set. They fell behind in the second set, but were not fazed by a 23-18 deficit. Out of a timeout, Louisville ripped off 7 straight points to take a 24-23 lead. However, Lake won the final three points to take the set 26-24 and tie the match at 1-1.
The Leopards fended off the Blue Streaks in the third set for another close 25-23 win. But the Blue Streaks dominated the final two sets to take the match. Lake more than doubled up Louisville in the fourth set 25-12. The Lady Streaks then scored the first 6 points to take command of the fifth and final set. The Leps fought back to within 14-10 but could get no closer as Lake scored the match point.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Claymont Mustangs in regular season finale on Saturday, October 5. JV will begin at 11:00 AM with Varsity following at 12:30 PM.
