The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team fell in the final minute to the host Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders 1-0 Wednesday Night at Roosevelt Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 0-2 on the season.
Hido Connects on PK with 43 Seconds Left
Freshman Hannah Hido scored on a penalty kick with 43 seconds remaining to lift the Rough Riders past the Lady Leopards 1-0.
The score came after a controversial call in the box. Junior Ella Hassler had control of the ball and Louisville junior goalkeeper Amelia Henderhan went out to challenge her. The referee determined that Henderhan went after Hassler instead of for the ball and awarded Kent Roosevelt with a penalty kick. After a long delay, Hido launched the attempt into the left side of the net to give the Rough Riders the lone goal of the game in the 80th minute of play.

Leopards Threaten Tying Goal in Waning Seconds
LHS Freshman Sammi Beatty had a shot on goal in the waning seconds but was unable to connect. Kent Roosevelt senior goalkeeper Corinn Wolfgang finished with 9 saves in goal.
The Rough Riders out-shot the Leopards 10-9 for the game and Kent Roosevelt held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Henderhan also had 9 saves in goal for Louisville.
The Lady Leopards are now 0-3 against the Rough Riders all-time, which includes an 0-2 record in games played at Kent Roosevelt. Louisville lost at Kent Roosevelt 4-1 in 2020 and the Rough Riders won their first matchup in 2012 by a 3-1 count.
