Leopards Defeat Falcons, Trounce Tigers at Howland Tri-Match – Wrestling
The Louisville Leopards Wrestling Team traveled to Howland High School last Thursday for a tri-match with the Austintown Fitch Falcons and the host Warren Howland Tigers.
Louisville first defeated Austintown Fitch 46-22 and then trounced host Howland 74-6 in their second matchup. The Leopards improved to 6-1 with these dual victories.

Lacey Harvey (106) opened the match with an 11-4 decision to put the Leopards on the board. Jacob Ferguson (113) earned a 10-1 major decision in response to give the Falcons their only lead of the match at 4-3.
Louisville won the next five matches accumulating 25 team points in the process to take complete control of the match. Dan Adams (120) and Garett Lautzenheiser (126) earned back-to-back first period pins to put the Leopards back in front at 15-4. Pablo Castro (132) then secured a 13-5 major decision and Davin Rhoads (138) captured a 5-1 decision. Josiah Leonard (145) also claimed his match via forfeit to put LHS firmly in front 28-4.
The Falcons won the next three bouts to cut the deficit to 28-19. Victors included Tyler Lintner (152) by 11-9 decision, Aric Smith (160) by fall, and Peyton Quarles (170) by fall. Louisville’s Brenden Severs (182) won the ensuing match via forfeit and Fitch’s Jacob Smail (195) followed with a 4-1 decision.
The Leopards sealed the team victory with a pair of pins in the upper weight classes. Noah Peterson (220) needed just 33 seconds to pin his opponent and Tristan Uphold also pinned the opposition in under a minute at 0:59.

Louisville dominated from start to finish in upending Howland 74-6. The Leopards won the first 7 matches en rout to a 38-0 lead out of the gate. After surrendering the 160 match by fall, LHS was victorious in the final 6 bouts that tacked on 36 unanswered points.
The Leopards won 4 matches by fall during the dual. Dan Adams (120), Noah Peterson (220), and Tristan Uphold (285) all pinned their opponents in the first period. Dan Kennedy (152) also won by fall in the second period of his matchup.
Two other Louisville wrestlers claimed victory on the mat. They included Davin Rhoads (138) by 23-6 technical fall and Josiah Leonard (145) by a 6-2 decision.
