The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team shutout the host Alliance Aviators 5-0 at Rockhill Elementary School Stadium. With the victory, Louisville is now 8-5-1 on the season.
Freshman Matti Benson scored a goal in each half and also recorded her team leading 8th assist of the season to lead the Lady Leopards. Benson has now scored 6 goals this season.
Four different Louisville players found the back of the net in the second half. Other goal scorers included sophomore Gracie Bush, senior Gabby Smith, and junior Fallon VanZant. Smith now has 11 goals on the season, while Smith and VanZant have each tallied 4 for the year. Junior Breanna Pittman also recorded her first assist of the season for the Leopards.
Sophomore goalkeeper Amelia Henderhan didn’t see a single shot, but still recorded her 10th career shutout in goal. Louisville out-shot Alliance 20-0 and also held a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now won 8 straight games against the Lady Aviators including the last 4 at Alliance. Louisville has outscored them 41-3 in that eight game span while shutting them out in 5 of their last 6 meetings. The Lady Leopards now lead the all-time series 10-4-1 overall which includes a 4-2-1 record when playing at Alliance.
