The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Softball Team rallied to double up the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 4-2 Saturday afternoon at Firestone Stadium. With their second straight victory, Louisville is now 2-1 on the season.

Powerful Pitching Performance From Katelynn Miller Carries Louisville Varsity Leopards Past St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish

Katelynn Miller struck out 10 batters as the hurler led Louisville Varsity Leopards past St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish 4-2 on Saturday. Miller gave up eight hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.
St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish got on the board in the third inning after Miller induced Kate Krabill to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Louisville Varsity Leopards captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the fourth when Taylor Thompson singled, scoring one run, and Leah Claugus tripled, scoring two runs.
Krabill led things off in the circle for St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish. The starter gave up six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none.
Claugus led Louisville Varsity Leopards with two runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
Mackenzie McFarland and Ella Kim were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish while hitting back-to-back. Noelle Keso led St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game at Assumption Varsity Rockets on Thursday.
