Leopards Ground Aviators, Now a Win from NBC Crown

Louisville Vs. Alliance Boys Tennis

Louisville 4, Alliance 1

The Leopards boys tennis team completed a season sweep of the Alliance Aviators by winning 4-1 Tuesday evening at LHS.  The win is Louisville’s fourteenth straight and they are now 8-0 in the NBC.  The Leopards have now taken the last 11 matches from Alliance and 26 out of the last 27 overall in the all-time series, which they lead 38-5.

Adam Sullivan and Anthony Hoover each won their singles matches in two sets. Ryan Shepherd and Michael ThomasBeatty's Sports Baseball Shirt 2012 Spring Sports Logos also won their doubles match by a 6-2, 6-1 count.  Finally, Vince Burwell & Daniel Thompson won their match after dropping their first set in a tie-break.  They rallied to take the second set 7-5 before dropping a bagel on their competition in the final set 6-0.

The Leopards magic number to clinch a share of the NBC is now just 1.  Ironically, its the Aviators that could possibly hand them the title on Wednesday when they host Salem.  One win by the Leopards or one loss by the Quakers will give Louisville their fourth NBC Title in five years.  Louisville can win the title outright Thursday when they travel to Salem.  Alliance and Salem will meet twice in the next six days.
