Jake Beard lifted a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to score Zander Triplett and lift the Louisville Leopards to a 7-6 victory over the visiting rival Division II No. 5-ranked North Canton Hoover Vikings Wednesday evening at Andy Aljancic Field. With the win, Louisville has now won four of its last five games and improves to 12-8 on the season.

It came down to the wire on Wednesday at Louisville High School, as Louisville Varsity Leopards grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-6, over Hoover Varsity Vikings. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Jake Beard hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Hoover Varsity Vikings got on the board in the top of the first inning after Carter Lukens singled to center field, and Jack Ziarko grounded out, each scoring one run.

A sacrifice fly by Caden Kortis gave Louisville Varsity Leopards the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdHoover Varsity Vikings took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Lukens singled to center field, and Roman Geiselman flew out, each scoring one run.

Zander Triplett singled to right field on a full count, which helped Louisville Varsity Leopards tie the game at four in the bottom of the fifth.

An error gave Hoover Varsity Vikings the lead, 6-4, in the top of the sixth.

Louisville Varsity Leopards tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single by Max Roberts, and a ground out by Luke Seaman.

West Main Vet Clinic AdTrevor Burick led things off on the bump for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs (two earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Mason Groninger stepped on the hill first for Hoover Varsity Vikings. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Kortis, Bryce Johnson, and Caleb Mayle each threw scoreless innings for Louisville Varsity Leopards in relief.

Louisville Varsity Leopards tallied nine hits in the game. Triplett and Seaman each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Beard, Brock Leghart, Triplett, Roberts, and Kortis each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards stole four bases in the game. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdJR Cook and Lukens were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Hoover Varsity Vikings. Lukens and Jack Andes each collected two hits for Hoover Varsity Vikings. Will Zollinger paced Hoover Varsity Vikings with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Andes stole four bases. Hoover Varsity Vikings ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game. Hoover Varsity Vikings turned two double plays in the game.

Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game at New Philadelphia on Friday.
