The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team was shutout by the host New Philadelphia Quakers 1-0 Friday evening at Tuscora Park. With the loss, Louisville falls to 12-9 on the season.

Both teams were strong on the mound on Friday, but New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 1-0 victory over Louisville Varsity Leopards. Caden Kortis started the game for Louisville Varsity Leopards and recorded nine outs.
Louisville Varsity Leopards lost despite out-hitting New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers three to two. Brock Leghart, Grayson Brunoni, and Bryce Johnson each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.
Kortis started on the mound for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starter allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Jackson Martini started on the hill for New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over five and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking five.
Kortis led Louisville Varsity Leopards with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Kortis stole three bases. Louisville Varsity Leopards ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game.
Cohen Winters and Brady Evans each collected one hit for New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers. Caleb Crowthers stole two bases. New Philadelphia Varsity Quakers stole four bases in the game.
Louisville Varsity Leopards will travel to St. Edward Varsity Eagles for their next game on Sunday.
