The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team erased a 4-0 deficit, but ultimately fell 5-4 in walk-off fashion to the host Canfield Cardinals Monday evening at Canfield High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 11-8 on the season.

Louisville Varsity Leopards fell to Canfield Varsity Cardinals 5-4 on Monday at Canfield High School on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Jake Dovich singled, scoring one run.
Louisville Varsity Leopards lost despite out-hitting Canfield Varsity Cardinals 10 to five. Jake Beard, Caden Kortis, and Luke Seaman each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
Canfield Varsity Cardinals got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Max Roberts induced Jaden Wurst to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and an error scored three runs.
Louisville Varsity Leopards tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to an error, and a single by Kortis.
Aiden Norris pitched three innings in relief for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The reliever gave up two hits and zero runs while, striking out one and walking two. Roberts led things off on the hill for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher gave up one hit and four runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking three. Dom Polkovitch started on the mound for Canfield Varsity Cardinals. The starter surrendered seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out one and walking two.
Louisville Varsity Leopards accumulated 10 hits in the game. Beard, Cody Zahler, and Kortis each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.
Dovich went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Joey Gabriel, Logan Patellis, Ryan Weibling, Dovich, and Wurst each collected one hit for Canfield Varsity Cardinals. Patrick Groner led Canfield Varsity Cardinals with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.
Louisville Varsity Leopards welcome Hoover on Wednesday for their next game.
