Girls Tennis Wins in Tie-Breaker to Preserve NBC Streak

Louisville 3, Canton South 2
A lot questions remained unanswered Thursday Evening as the Leopards and Wildcats Girls Tennis match was called due to darkness tied at 2-2. Louisville answered them Friday Afternoon as they prevailed by a 3-2 count over visiting Canton South to remain in sole possession of first place and improve their NBC winning streak to 52 straight. With the win, the Lady Leopards are now 8-4 overall and 5-0 in league play.
The deciding match came in #1 Doubles, which was halted in a 5-5 tie Thursday. The Team of Caitlin Kerzan and Alexis Pochubay took the final set in tie-breaking fashion Friday to earn a 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) win. The final point gave Louisville the victory.
The Leopards other two points both came in Singles Play on Thursday. Kayla Pukys won her #1 Singles Match 6-0, 6-2 and Natalie Richards won in #3 Singles 6-4, 6-1.
While Canton South (12-2, 3-2) has put up a fight seemingly everytime the two squads play, it is Louisville who has won the last 12 matches in the series. The Lady Leopards now lead that all-time series over the Wildcats 42-13.
