Girls Tennis Ousted by St. Joseph Academy in OTCA Tournament
St. Joseph Academy 4, Louisville 1
The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis team fell to the visiting St. Joseph Academy Jaguars 4-1 Monday in the second round of the Ohio Tennis Coaches’ Association Team Tournament. With the loss, Louisville drops to 1-3 to start the season.
Kayla Pukys picked up the lone victory for the Leopards in #1 Singles. She won in straight sets by the count of 6-0, 6-3.
The Jaguars remained a perfect 7-0 on the season with the victory. Melissa Martin and Kerrigan Ponsart each won their singles matches for St. Joseph Academy. The Doubles teams of Cassie Van Etten & Abby Weaver and Bridget Fitzgerald & Angela Cicero also won in straight sets for the Jaguars.
St. Joseph Academy will move on to face the Walsh Jesuit Warriors in the DI Northeast Regional Quarterfinals on a date to be determined.
