The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team recorded their first shutout in team history in a 15-0 victory over the visiting Canfield Cardinals in their home opener Tuesday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville evens their record at 2-2 on the young season. 

Sophomore attackman Jacob Davide scored a game-high 4 goals to lead the Leopards on offense. Sophomore midfielder Joey Johnson and senior attackman Tyler Shadle also recorded hat tricks for Louisville.

Wengerter Records 1st Shutout in Team History

Samantha's Grill AdSeven different Leopards found the back of the net in the game. Senior attackman Bryce Rebuck was the only other multi-goal scorer for LHS with 2. Junior midfielder Brandon Kimble, junior midfielder Joe Reynolds, and senior midfielder Matt VanNostran also recorded goals to round out the Louisville scoring. 

Junior goalkeeper Evan Wengerter recorded 8 saves and also the first shutout in team history. The Leopards previous best defensive effort (in terms of goals allowed) came in an 18-1 victory at Canton Central Catholic to conclude the 2015 regular season. 


Leopards Vs. Cardinals Boys Lacrosse Series

Louisville is now 4-0 against Canfield all-time, which includes a 3-0 record in games played at Louisville Leopards Stadium in the series. This was the first meeting between the two teams since the 2018 season.

JV: Louisville 6, Canfield 2

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Leopards JV team also defeated the visiting Cardinals 6-2 at Louisville Leopards Stadium Tuesday. With the win, LHS JV improves to 2-2 on the season.

Sophomore midfielder Joey Johnson recorded a hat track to lead the Leopards. Sophomore midfielder Chase Mueller also scored a pair of goals and sophomore attackman Zach Bennett added the other.
