Boys Take 15th, Girls 16th at Boardman Invitational, LMS Dominates
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at the Boardman Invitational on Saturday, September 15. The Boys Squad took 15th Overall, while the Girls Took 16th Overall.
Pacing the Boys was Nick Thomas with a 13th place time of 16:29.60 and for the Girls Mackenzie Rankin finished 16th with a time of 20:08.66.
The Leopards Middle School Squads swept the competition in capturing 1st Place in both the Boys and Girls races. The boys had 6 runners finish in the top 18. Noah Chaplik (10:33.94) and Nick Chaplik (10:38.47) finished first and second place individually in the race. Zach Fresenko also took fourth, while Evan Oberster, Seth Gronow, and Mitch Perez took 16th-18th consecutively. For the girls, Brianna Horton finished second overall with a time of 12:27.15. Ashlee Beaver (12:41.30) finished fourth, Abby Beaver (12:53.97) finished 6th, and Alexa Oberster (9th) & Abbey Anderson (16th) came across the finish line in the top 16.
UP NEXT: The Girls Cross Country Team will compete at the Strongsville Invitational on Saturday, September 22. The Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams will then compete at the Stark County Meet on Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 AM at GlenOak High School.
