Lady Leopards Soar Past Falcons in 2nd Half, Shutout Fitch 3-0 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team broke open a scoreless match with three second-half goals to shut out the visiting Austintown Fitch Falcons 3-0 at Louisville Leopards Stadium. Ava Seitz, Kasey Lint, and Carolina Bell each scored as the Lady Leopards improved to 6-2 overall and remained unbeaten in All-American Conference play at 3-0.
Louisville held a 13-5 advantage in shots and earned five corner kicks compared to two for the Falcons.

Seitz Breaks Deadlock 30 Seconds Into Second Half
Neither side was able to find the net during the opening 40 minutes, but Louisville needed only 30 seconds after halftime to change that.
Ruby Rodriguez initiated the scoring sequence with a cross into the penalty area to Haile Folk. With a pair of Fitch defenders surrounding her, Folk controlled the ball out of the air and used her second touch to knock it toward Seitz.
Seitz collected the feed and angled her shot into the left side of the net to give the Lady Leopards a 1-0 advantage with 39:30 remaining.
Edgein Free Kick Sets Up Lint
Louisville doubled its lead with 27:03 left following a long service from goalkeeper Tristyn Edgein.
Edgein launched a free kick from approximately 43 yards out into a crowd of players inside the penalty area. Lint emerged with possession on the left side of the box and fired back across goal into the right side of the net to stretch the Louisville lead to 2-0.
The assist gave Edgein an offensive contribution to go along with her work in goal.
Folk Connects With Bell to Seal Shutout
The Lady Leopards added their third goal with 9:58 remaining.
Folk took a free kick near the right sideline and delivered a cross into the penalty area. Bell met the service in midair and redirected it into the right side of the net to make it 3-0.
The assist was Folk’s second of the night after also setting up Seitz’s go-ahead goal.
Edgein, Defense Blank Falcons
Louisville’s defense made the three-goal cushion stand and kept Fitch off the scoreboard for the full 80 minutes.
Edgein recorded the shutout in goal while also contributing the assist on Lint’s second-half score. The Leopard defense limited the Falcons to five shots for the game and just one during the second half as Louisville steadily took control after the break.
The clean sheet was Louisville’s third of the season and its first since opening the year with back-to-back shutout victories.
