Swope Puts Leopards in Front Just Before Half
Junior Kadan Swope scored with just 34 seconds before halftime to give the Leopards their first lead of the game. Swope was able to gain control of a throw in from the away sideline by senior Cameron Young. Swope tapped the ball to the right to gain separation from his defender and then blasted the ball into the top left cornet of the net past the Aurora goalkeeper.
Louisville would take that 1-0 lead into the half and hold it until late in the second half.
Savukis Scores Late to Force Overtime
The two teams continued to hold each other off the board until the 77th minute. Aurora’s Parker Seitz crossed the ball right to left into the goal box and Alex Savukis one-timed it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 with 3:27 to play.
Neither team was able to score again in regulation and the game went to overtime.
