Leopards Fall to Greenmen 2-1 in Double Overtime Heartbreaker – Boys Soccer
#19 Aurora 2, #9 Louisville 1, 2OT
The #9 seed Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team fell to the visiting #19 seed Aurora Greenmen 2-1 in double overtime Wednesday Night at Louisville Leopard Stadium. With the loss, Louisville finishes the season with a 13-3-3 record.
Swope Puts Leopards in Front Just Before Half
Junior Kadan Swope scored with just 34 seconds before halftime to give the Leopards their first lead of the game. Swope was able to gain control of a throw in from the away sideline by senior Cameron Young. Swope tapped the ball to the right to gain separation from his defender and then blasted the ball into the top left cornet of the net past the Aurora goalkeeper.
Louisville would take that 1-0 lead into the half and hold it until late in the second half.
Savukis Scores Late to Force Overtime
The two teams continued to hold each other off the board until the 77th minute. Aurora’s Parker Seitz crossed the ball right to left into the goal box and Alex Savukis one-timed it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 with 3:27 to play.
Neither team was able to score again in regulation and the game went to overtime.

Shanholtzer Sends Greemen to District Finals
Neither team scored in the first overtime and the game continued on into the second overtime period. The stalemate was finally broken in the 105th minute. Jonah Shanholtzer took control off a deflected pass and booted a hard liner into the back of the right side of the net to end the game with 5:57 remaining in double overtime.
The Greenmen improve to 11-5-3 with the victory and will advance to take on the top seeded Walsh Jesuit Warriors on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the DI Northeast 1 District Championship held at Barberton’s Sharkey Stadium.
