Neither team would score again in regulation as Louisville entered just their second overtime game in their 20-year team history. Nicholas McFarren was the hero for the Red Riders in the extra period scoring the golden goal off a corner kick to send Orrville to the DII Canton District Championship on Saturday, October 26. They will take on the 5th Seed Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 4:00 PM. St. Vincent-St. Mary stunned top seeded Marlington 2-1 with their game-winning score coming with 1:07 left in the game.

This was the first meeting between the Leopards and the Red Riders since 2005. Louisville had won the last two games in the series earning an 8-0 shutout at Orrville in 2004 and a 1-0 shutout at home in 2005. The Red Riders lead the all-time series 5-2 overall with this being their first postseason matchup.
