Andrejcik Scores Game-High 24 to Lead Leopards
Avery Andrejcik scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the first half to lead Louisville. He ended the opening half with an emphatic dunk before burying his fourth three-pointer to punctuate the Leopards’ dominant 61-14 opening half.
Andrejcik finished with six three-pointers, which tied a team tournament record. Will Aljancic set the record first, hitting six three-pointers in a 63-44 win over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in the 2021 sectional semifinals.
Andrejcik’s 24 points scored off the bench is likely a team record for a non-starter. He was named player of the game after the contest.
Gross & Siegfried Lead Louisville Out of the Gate
Brayden Gross scored 13 of his 19 points in the first quarter to help the Leopards put the game away early. Louisville scored the first thirty-five points of the contest and Akron North would never surpass that total. Gross scored 6 of his 9 field goals in the opening quarter.
Point guard Beau Siegfried efficiently led the offense while also scoring 9 of his 12 points in the first quarter. He hit 2 of his 3 three-pointers in the opening quarter quarter and scored all of his 12 points in the first half.
Leopards Set Team Record with 16 Three-Pointers
The balanced Leopards finished with 32 field goals, 16 from beyond the arc and 16 within the arc. The 16 three-pointers is a new program record. It eclipses the previous mark of 15, which was set at home against New Philadelphia in 2008 and later matched on the road at Marlington in 2024.
Devin Bailey and Caleb Mayle each made two three-pointers. Bailey hit a three in each of the first two quarters and finished with all 10 of his points in the first half. Mayle buried two of Louisville’s six three-pointers in the fourth quarter for his only points.
Ashton Marshall made the Leopards’ lone three-pointer in the third quarter. The two teams played even in the third stanza, each scoring five points as the clock ran the entire second half do to the 35-point mercy rule. Kolton Loy and Drake Wilson added a three-pointer each in the fourth quarter as Louisville outscored Akron North 20-16 in the final eight minutes to take home the 51-point victory.
Other scorers for the Leopards included Tate Aljancic with 4 and Austin Wade with 2.
