My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team downed the visiting Akron Garfield Golden Rams 73-52 Friday Night at Louisville High School. With their eighth straight victory, Louisville is now 9-1 on the season.

Gross Scores Game High 20 to Lead Leopards

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdJunior forward Brayden Gross scored 13 of his game high 20 points in the third quarter to lead the Leopards. Louisville led 30-23 at the half, but used a 15-2 run to start the second half to take firm control of the contest. Led by Gross, the Leopards would outscore the Golden Rams 27-10 in the third quarter to take a 57-33 lead into the fourth quarter. Louisville would increase its advantage to as much as 35 midway through the fourth quarter.

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieSenior guard Hayden Nigro hit a pair of three-pointers and scored 12 of his 18 points in the opening half for the Leopards. Other top Louisville scorers included junior guard Ashton Marshall and junior point guard Beau Siegfried. Marshall would score 9 of his 11 points in the third quarter. Siegfried popped a pair of three-pointers in the opening quarter and ended the evening with 8.


Walker Scores 19 to Lead Golden Rams

Junior point guard Thomas Walker 11 of his team high 19 points in the opening half to lead Akron Garfield. Junior point guard Cory Rosenthal also hit double figures with 10 and senior shooting guard TJ Smith tacked on 8.

The Golden Rams are now 6-3 on the season.


Louisville Vs. Akron Garfield Basketball Series

Louisville is now 2-0 against Akron Garfield all-time. The only other meeting between the two programs came at the Jimmy Gooden Classic last season. The Leopards took that matchup 70-53 at Akron Springfield High School.
