Louisville Bests Firestone 166-201 in Home Opener – Boys Golf

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Golf Team shot a team low for the season in their 166-201 home opener victory over the visiting Akron Firestone Falcons Thursday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Alliance. With the victory, Louisville improves to 1-2 on the young campaign.
Mayle Cards Match Low 39 to Lead Louisville
Sophomore Jack Mayle shot a match low 3 over par 39 to lead the Leopards. Sophomore Cole Miller and junior Caleb Harsh also shot 42 each for Louisville. Sophomore Zach Root finished just behind them by carding a 43 to round out the LHS scoring.
Akron Firestone was led by Trent MacLean who shot a team low 47. Other Falcons scorers included Nate Strub 48, Sterling Sparts 49, and Aidan Russell 57.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Lake Invitational on Monday, August 30. Tee-time is slated for 12:30 PM from Congress Lake Country Club.

JV: Louisville 208, East Canton Varsity 223
In other action, the Louisville JV squad hosted the East Canton Varsity team at Sleepy Hollow. The Leopards JV prevailed in the match 208-223 to improve to 1-1 on the season.
Freshman Michael Filipowicz shot a team best 49 to lead Louisville. Rounding out the Leopards JV scoring were junior Cole Rich 51, junior Karson Siegfried 52, and freshman Beau Siegfried 56.
This year marks the inaugural season of the East Canton Hornets boys golf program.
