Schillig’s 4 Goals, Riley’s Record 5 Assists Propel Leopards Past Aviators 5-2 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer defeated the visiting Alliance Aviators 5-2 on Senior Night Monday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville is now unbeaten in 6 of its last 7 matches and improves to 7-5-1 with the victory.

Schillig Notches Hat Trick in the First Half
Alyssa Schillig registered a hat trick in the opening half, all via assists from Reese Riley, to give the Lady Leopards a 3-0 advantage at the break.
Alliance scored a goal to open the second half and Kasey Lint answered with a goal via Riley again.
Riley Breaks Single-Game Assist Record
Zellie Barnes tacked on another Aviator second-half score to cut the deficit to 4-2 with 4:44 remaining.
Louisville answered back with a goal 39 seconds later. Riley shot the ball off the goalkeeper and it deflected back to Schilllig who was there to kick it into the wide-open net for her fourth goal of the game.
Riley was credited with her fifth assist of the contest on the play, setting a new Lady Leopard Soccer single-game record. The 9-year-old record was previously held by Madison Novosel, who recorded 4 assists during Louisville’s 10-0 win at Canton McKinley on August 22, 2016.
Louisville Vs. Alliance Girls Soccer Series
The Leopards have now won 11 of their last 13 matchups against the Aviators. Louisville leads the all-time series 13-5-2 overall, which includes an 8-2-1 record at home.
The Lady Leopards finish the regular season with a 4-3 record in games played at Louisville Leopards Stadium. They will hit the road for their final three regular season contests to gear up for the postseason.
