The Louisville defense dominated in shutting out their second straight opponent. Goalkeepers Kenzie Brown and Megan Dorosky combined to earn the shutout for the Leopards. This marks only the second time in team history that Louisville has begun the season with back-to-back shutouts. In 2004, they defeated Massillon 7-0 at home and Alliance 6-0 at home to open the season. This year’s team went on the road for both.
Altogether 8 different Lady Leopards found the net. Other scorers included Evangelia Meckel, Jenny Hamsher, Megan Hampe, Izzy Rich, and Destini Adoriso. Heather Guiley and Hamsher also tallied assists for Louisville.
With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Bulldogs in 9 straight meetings, which includes the last 5 at Canton McKinley. Louisville now leads the all-time series 10-1-1, which includes a 6-0-1 mark on the road.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Cuyahoga Falls to take on the Black Tigers on Wednesday, August 24 at 7:00 PM.
