The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team shutout the visiting Massillon Tigers 9-0 on Senior Night Tuesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville improves to 5-4-3 on the season.


Dillen Records Hat Trick to Lead Leopards

Re-Elect Corey Street Louisville City Council AdSophomore Drew Dillen recorded a hat trick to lead the Leopards. He scored Louisville’s second goal of the contest and first goal of the second half via assists from fellow sophomore Brady Adams. Dillen’s hat trick goal came via sophomore Jacob Sanders to put LHS comfortably in front 9-0 late in the second half.

Dillen has now scored a team leading 5 goals this season, tying him with Dominic Porter-Kovacich. With 21:21 to go in the first half, Porter-Kovacich booted home his fifth goal of the season via an assist from senior Austin Smith to put the Leopards in front 3-0.

Adams Finishes with 3 Assists for LHS

Other first half Louisville goal scorers included senior Mason Foley, junior Tanis Murray, and Sanders. Foley scored the opening goal of the contest at the 31:31 mark of the first half. The goal was his third of the season.

Later Murray scored his first goal of the year via an assist by Adams to make it 4-0. Adams would finish with 3 assists on the night to up his total to a team best 5 assists for the campaign.

Sanders Scores a Pair of Goals for Louisville

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdSanders also notched his first goal of the season on the final score of the first half to give the Leopards a 5-0 advantage at the break. Sanders would score again in the second half to extend the Louisville lead to 7-0. 

Sophomore Ethan Diller was the only other goal scorer for the Leopards. His second half goal was his second of the season and put Louisville ahead 8-0


Louisville Undefeated Vs. Massillon in 22 Straight

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdWith the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Tigers in 8 straight meetings dating back to the 2015 season. Louisville is now 20-1-2 against Massillon all-time with their only loss coming in their first matchup in 2000. The Leopards are now 10-1-1 against the Tigers at home, winning their last 10 over Massillon when playing in Louisville.

The Leopards have shutout the Tigers in their last four meetings overall, outscoring them 26-0 in that stretch. This is Louisville’s ninth shutout of Massillon overall.

5 Leopards Honored for Senior Night

Jenny Can Cleaning AdPrior to the match, LHS honored their five seniors. They included Zach Ebey, Mason Foley, Myles Lab, Joe Reynolds, and Austin Smith.

Leopard Nation would like to thank these five seniors for all their hard work and contributions to the Louisville Soccer program and wish them the best of luck on all their future endeavors for the rest of the year and beyond high school!  

UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team will next travel to take on the Orrville Red Riders on Saturday, October 9. JV is slated to begin at 10:00 AM with varsity following at Noon.
