Lady Leopards Finish as Runner-Up at Louisville Doubles Classic

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Tennis Team competed at their host Louisville Doubles Classic this past Saturday. Louisville went 6-3 in their doubles matches to finish second as a team.
The doubles team of Tori Esposito and Kennedy Keister led the Leopards by finishing as Flite 1 Champions. They defeated the North Canton Hoover duo of Alexia Guera and Brianna Roth by the count of 6-4, 7-5 in the first round. In the second round they won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 over Jackson’s Ella Dorfmueller and Isabella Kistler. In the final round, the opponent was Lake’s Oliva Paschke and Sarah Crabtree who also won their first two matchups. Esposito and Keister won the championship match 7-5, 6-2 to claim the title.
The Lady Leopards doubles team of Lexi Collins and Mackenzie Murphy finished 2-1 on the day to claim the Flite 3 championship. In their opening match they defeated Jackson’s Kendal Glitz and Elena Bagwell 6-2, 6-3. After a strong start, the pair had a set back against North Canton’s Davan O’Reilly and Camille Dayton 6-3, 3-6, 2-6. However, they rebounded in their final matchup to take down Lake’s Hannah Wilson and Savannah Miller 7-6, 2-6, 6-4. The Polar Bears doubles team of Glitz and Bagwell also finished 2-1 in Flite 3, but the Leopards Collins and Murphy win against them in the first round proved to be the tie-breaker.
The Blue Streaks doubles team of Kali Aten and Hannah Ball were the champions of Flite 2. The Lake Blue Streaks finished as the team champion with an overall record of 7-2. The Jackson Polar Bears took third with a 3-6 mark and the North Canton Hoover Vikings doubles teams went 2-7 to take fourth.
