Softball Downs Massillon 8-3 in Scrimmage Opener

The Louisville Leopards opened up scrimmage play with an 8-3 victory over the host Massillon Tigers Friday Evening at the Eagles #190 Sports Complex.
Leopards pitching fanned 12 Tigers during the preseason matchup. Starter Morgan Harris worked four innings in striking out 6 and Kirsten Wharmby worked the other 3 innings also sending down 6.
The two squads played to a 1-1 tie at the end of four innings. However, the Louisville bats came alive after that as they produced 7 runs in the final three innings. Offensive highlights included Grace Jackson’s 2-run homer to center in the 7th and Aliyah English’s 2-run double that broke up the tie in the fifth.
Katie Cozy and Peyton McKeever also each had RBI hits for the Leopards.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the St. Thomas Aquinas Knights in a Scrimmage on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 PM.
