With the victory, Louisville improves to 7-2-2 on the season.

Allan and Schillig Score a Pair of Goals Each

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieThe Lady Leopards got on the board first after neither team scored during the first 21 minutes of action. Alyssa Schillig broke the stalemate with a header in the box off a corner kick from Reagan Biery at the start of the 22nd minute. The score would be the first of two goals on the night for Schillig. She also opened the scoring in the second half with a goal in the 43rd minute.

Romeo's Pizza Louisville, Ohio AdPayton Allan scored the only other goal of the first half with 9:06 remaining to put LHS ahead 2-0 at the half. Allan would add a second goal in the 49th minute to end a string of 3 Louisville goals in a span of 149 seconds. Reese Riley and Biery scored the only two goals prior to Allan’s score that made it 6-0.

The Lady Leopards would tack on two more goals late. Violet Lab scored at the beginning of the 51st minute and Kasey Lint made it 8-0 with 17:57 remaining in the contest.


Edgein Turns Away PK to Secure 8th Shutout

Louisville goalkeeper Tristyn Edgein turned away a Warren JFK penalty kick with less than six minutes to play to preserve the shutout. The shutout is her 8th of the season as the Lady Leopards have only surrendered 6 goals in 10 games overall.

Edgein isn’t the only one who deserves credit for Wednesday’s shutout. The Eagles best scoring chance of the night came in the 66th minute. Warren JFK dribbled hard into the right side of the box and Edgein came forth to challenge. The shot got past Edgein to her right and headed quickly toward the goal line. 

Biery charged in from behind and stopped the ball before it crossed over. Lola Lucas then cleared the ball out and the shutout remained intact.


Leopards Hand Eagles Their 1st Loss

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Eagles were 10-0-1 coming into the contest with their only tie coming in a 1-1 draw at Cardinal Mooney on August 28. They had won 7 straight games and had shutout their last 5 opponents coming into the night.

Louisville not only handed Warren JFK its first loss of the season, but outscored their entire opposition for the season. Overall the Eagles had outscored their opponents 46-5 prior to Wednesday and had posted 7 shutouts in 11 games. The Lady Leopards scored 8 goals on them in less than 63 minutes.

This was the first ever matchup between Louisville and Warren JFK in girls soccer. The Eagles are the Lady Leopards’ 71st unique opponent all-time.

UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team will next travel to take on the Alliance Aviators on Monday, September 30. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM from the Alliance Soccer Complex.
