North Canton Hoover Vikings at Louisville Leopards Volleyball 2013 Video Highlights

Hoover 20-25-25-25, Louisville 25-22-20-21

The Lady Leopards competed in four competitive sets with the host Hoover Vikings, but in the end they fell 25-20, 22-25, 20-25, 21-25 to start the season.

Offensively for Louisville, Kristen Bricker led the team with 8 points serving and also led the team in assists with 24. Megan Stocker led the Leopards with 16 kills, while Emily Hollifield had a team-leading 3 blocks and also recorded 14 kills. Nicole Kettlewell led the defense with 16 digs.

Louisville built an early lead and claimed the first set 25-20. In the second set, the Leopards fell behind 6-0 early but rallied back to within 11-9. North Canton would score the next 6 points before building their lead all the way up to 21-11. The Leps would rally to within 23-22 before the Vikings scored the final two points of the set and took it 25-22.

In the third set, Hoover and Louisville went back and forth and the Vikings held a 20-19 lead. North Canton then scored 5 of the next 6 points to take the set 25-20. In the fourth set the teams again played even again to a 15-15 tie. However, North Canton would go on a 5-0 run propelling them to a 25-21 win in the fourth set to claim the match 3-1.

The Vikings have now taken 5 of the last 6 meetings against the Leopards.
