Varsity Volleyball Takes 3rd at Jackson Invitational, JV 1st

Varsity – 3rd

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team placed third at the Jackson Invitational Saturday. Louisville defeated Ravenna Southeast 20-25, 27-25, 25-23, fell to host Jackson 15-25, 21-25, and then defeated West Holmes 12-25, 25-22, 25-22. The Lady Leopards now hold a 13-5 overall record on the season.

In the opening game against the Pirates, Kayla Cole recorded 12 kills & 3 blocks and Grace Jackson Beatty's Sports Yellow Long Sleeved Shirtfinished with 17 digs & 9 points serving to lead Louisville. Haley Shadle also tallied a team-high 34 assists during the three set victory.

In the second contest, the Lady Leopards fell to the eventual tournament Champion Polar Bears in two sets. Leaders for Louisville included Shadle with 21 assists & 2 blocks, Jackson with 5 digs, Emily Hollifield with 6 kills, and Sarah Lairson & Rachle Mathie with 2 points each serving.

In the battle for bronze, the Lady Leopards got off to a rough start as they fell in the first set 25-12 to the Knights. Louisville rallied to win each of the final two sets by a count of 25-22 to win the match 2-1 despite being outscored by West Holmes 69-62 in total points. Shadle again led the Leopards with 24 assists and 8 points & 6 aces serving. Brynn Guist also threw down a team-high 13 kills, Hollifield had 3 blocks, and Lairson registered 13 digs.

JV – 1st

The Louisville Lady Leopards JV Squad won the Jackson Invitational Saturday. They defeated Tallmadge 25-11, 25-11 in their first match, Orrville 25-22, 25-16 in their second match ,and Jackson in a thrilling 25-12, 22-25, 25-17 victory in the championship match.

The Junior Varsity Squad remains undefeated at 15-0 overall after these three victories. All four of their remaining matches will be played against NBC foes as they will look to complete a perfect season!

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Minerva Lions on Tuesday, September 30 for Volley for the Cure Night. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at approximately 6:30 PM.
