10. Girls Golf Wins Inaugural NBC Title
On September 22, in the first ever Girls NBC Golf Tournament at Great Trails Golf Course in Minerva, our Lady Leopards outlasted the Salem Quakers 392-397 to capture not only the tournament title but the first ever NBC Crown for the sport.

Led by Head Coach Zack McCoy, the girls golf team in just the school’s second season completed a 6-2 run through the NBC tying them with Salem for the regular season title. Since each regular season win is worth 1 point and winning the tournament is worth 5, every team remained in contention for the NBC Crown except 0-8 Carrollton.
Katie Warga led the way by shooting an 88, Regina McVey shot a 95, Adrienne Metzger shot a 102, and Michaela Lee rounded out the Lady Leps scoring with a 107 game. After the final results were tallied, the Lady Leps squeaked by Salem 392-397 to capture the league title.
The girls would go on to finish fifth at the Stark County Championships and ninth at the Tri-County Postseason Tournament.
For such a young program it shows how hard Coach McCoy and the girls have worked all season long. When fans and historians look back at the history of girls golf in the NBC there will be many stories & memories, but nobody can take away the fact that the first title belonged to the Lady Leopards.
