Beatty's Sports Football 2018 Schedule Shirt T-ShirtThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the Tallmadge Blue Devils 67-59 as part of the Alliance Christmas Classic held at Mount Union Saturday Evening. With the victory, Louisville improves to 5-3 on the season.

Colton Jones hit 7 three-pointers and scored a team-high 29 points to lead the Leopards. Jones was named MVP for the game and was honored after the contest. His 7 three-pointers matches now Freshman Boys Basketball Coach Owen Gramoy who made 7 three-pointers in a game against 6 different opponents during his career (2008-2011). Jones was just one away from tying Brandon Wahl’s team single game record of 8 three-pointers set at Marlington last season.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdSpencer Hall recorded an impressive stat line with 16 points, game-high 8 rebounds, and a team leading 4 assists for Louisville. Hall’s efforts allowed LHS to hold a 25-19 advantage on the boards. Jared Mathie also hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with 8.

Tallmadge held a 17-16 lead after the first quarter before the Leopards rallied in the second quarter to take a commanding 37-29 lead into the locker room. The two teams played dead even on the scoreboard in the second half both scoring 14 in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth quarter.

The Blue Devils (3-4) were led by Brandon Heigelmann who scored a game-high 32 points to go along with a team leading 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Hussing also reached double figures with 10 and Gardella scored 8 for Tallmadge.

This is the Leopards first victory against the Blue Devils and third meeting with THS overall. Louisville fell at Tallmadge 36-33 in 2013 and lost to the Blue Devils at home 69-68 in 2014 on a last second layup. The Leopards are now 2-0 when competing in the Alliance Christmas Classic all-time and have scored 67 points in each meeting. Louisville shocked the state rallying from 16 down in the second half to defeat Cleveland St. Ignatius 67-65 in the 2015 Alliance Christmas Classic
