Game Stats | Scoring Summary | Team Stats | Individual Stats
Stoffer Leads Leps with 215 Yards & 3 Touchdowns
In his first start at quarterback, Gabe Stoffer accounted for 215 total yards of offense and ran for 3 touchdowns. He carried the ball on 31 of the Leopards 63 offensive plays and amassed 126 yards on the ground. Stoffer scored on runs of 1, 6, and 3 yards.
Stoffer also completed 8 of 19 passes for 89 yards. Ashton Marshall was his top target hauling in 4 catches for 69 yards which included a 35 yard reception on the first play of Louisville’s third touchdown drive. The pair also connected to convert a 3rd-and-10, 3rd-and-11, and on a conversion pass from the 7 yard line following a penalty. Marshall also accounted for the Leopards only takeaway when he recovered Parker Daum’s onside kick with a little over nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Toy Leads Raiders to 14-0 Lead Out of the Gate
South Range wasted no time in showing why they are the top ranked team in Division V. The Raiders set the tone on the first play of scrimmage when Nate Lewis hauled in an over the shoulder 27 yard completion down the left sideline from quarterback Tristan Toy. Toy would later convert a 3rd-and-2 before finding the endzone from 2 yards out to cap off a 9 play, 71 yard scoring drive. Luke Starkey’s extra point was true putting South Range in front 7-0 just 3:39 into the contest.
Toy showed his versatility on Louisville’s opening possession. He stepped in front of a pass at the 44 yard line and took it to the house for an interception return touchdown. Starkey hit the extra point again to put the Raiders ahead 14-0 with 5:08 left in the first quarter.
Rice Answers with 85 Yard Kick Return TD
The Leopards had an immediate answer to Toy’s pick six with a house call of their own. Cooper Rice hauled in the ensuing kickoff at the Louisville 15, found a seam to the right, broke one tackle, and sprinted untouched the rest of the way down the right sideline for an 85 yard kick return touchdown. Parker Daum hit the extra point to chop the South Range lead in half at 14-7.
The kick return touchdown is Leopards’ first in 7 years. Max Hartline took Louisville’s last kickoff 87 yards to the house in the first quarter of the Leopards 38-21 win at West Branch on October 13, 2017.
Leopards Fight Back, Raiders Answer
In the second quarter, Louisville pieced together a 14-play, 73-yard drive that culminated in a 1-yard touchdown run by Gabe Stoffer. The Leopards’ extra point attempt failed, but they had pulled within one, 14-13, with 7:23 remaining in the half.
However, South Range quickly countered with back-to-back long touchdown runs. Dylan Smesko sprinted 38 yards for a score just 24 seconds after Louisville’s second touchdown. Two minutes later, Aiden Dominguez exploded for a 67-yard touchdown on the Raiders’ first play of their next drive, putting South Range up 28-13 at halftime.
Stoffer Keeps Leopards in the Game
After South Range added another touchdown early in the third quarter—a 29-yard pass from Toy to Troy Combs—Louisville continued to fight. Stoffer scored his second touchdown of the game on a 6-yard run, cutting the Raiders’ lead to 35-20. The score capped a quick four-play, 50-yard drive, with a key 35-yard pass from Stoffer to Ashton Marshall setting up the touchdown.
South Range answered again with a methodical 10-play, 76-yard drive, capped by a 1-yard touchdown run from Dominguez, pushing the Raiders’ lead back to 42-20.
Leopards’ Late Rally Falls Short
Louisville showed their resilience in the fourth quarter. Stoffer added his third rushing touchdown of the night, a 3-yard score, and then connected with Ashton Marshall on a two-point conversion to bring the Leopards within 42-28 with 9:16 remaining. Despite their efforts, the Raiders responded again as Toy raced 55 yards for his second rushing touchdown, sealing the 49-28 victory for South Range.
Big Night for Toy
For South Range, Tristan Toy was the star, accounting for three touchdowns—two on the ground and one through the air. Aiden Dominguez also had a big night, rushing for 157 yards and two scores, including the game-changing 67-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The Raiders’ offense racked up 453 yards of total offense, including 366 yards on the ground.
South Range’s defense forced three turnovers on the night. Gavin Hiscox intercepted a pass deep down field one play after the Leopards recovered an onside kick down 42-28. Jimmy Powell later hauled in the game-sealing interception with 1:11 left in the contest.
Louisville Vs. South Range All-Time Series
The Raiders have now defeated the Leopards in back-to-back seasons. South Range now leads the all-time series 2-1 overall and the series is an even 1-1 in games played at Louisville Leopards Stadium. The Leopards won the first matchup at home 27-6 back in 2018 and the Raiders won on their home field last season 38-8.
