Softball Drops 3-1 Decision to Polar Bears
Jackson 3, Louisville 1
The Louisville Lady Leopards fell to the visiting Jackson Polar Bears 3-1 Wednesday Evening at LHS. With the loss, Louisville drops to 3-4 on the season.
Emily Cantley’s RBI double in the bottom of the fourth scored Grace Jackson for the Leopards lone run of the contest. Kirsten Wharmby pitched a complete game, gave up just 1 earned run, and struck out 2 in a losing effort in the circle for Louisville.
The Polar Bears were led by Pitcher Kayla Marburger who pitched a complete game, gave up 4 hits, and struck out 12. Victoria Addis led Jackson offensively batting 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI double. Annie Dehnke & Kelsey Putman each had 2 hits and Lindsey Clemson provided an RBI triple for the Lady Bears as well.
With the loss, Louisville has now fallen to Jackson in 4 out of their last 5 meetings with Jackson. The Lady Leopards now trail the all-time series 11-28 which includes a 7-11 mark at home.
