All-Time Wins Leader Presentation
Brody Hahn scored 10 of his game-high 12 points in the first half and had 4 assists to lead the Leopards. Drew Noble also scored 10 points and Jake Pukys finished with 6 points & a game-high 6 assists.
Louisville scored the first 9 points of the contest, but West Branch rallied back to cut the deficit to 11-9 at the end of the first. Chris Libertore hit a three-pointer in the left corner to jump start a 21-6 second quarter for Louisville. The Leopards went into the break with a comfortable 32-15 lead over the Warriors.
West Branch would not reach Louisville’s halftime total for the game. They remained patient on offense in the second half and stalled for much of the third quarter. The Leopards still managed to edge the Warriors 8-7 in the third to build their lead to 18. The fourth quarter featured much of the same as Louisville edged West Branch 11-9 to earn the 51-31 win.
The game featured just 51 total shots from the field and only 19 misses. The Leopards shot a science fiction 69% (20 of 29) from the floor, while the Warriors shot 55% (12 of 22). Louisville also held the edge in rebounding 12-5.
The 31 points is the lowest the Leopards have allowed in a game in the Siegfried era. The last time Louisville held a team to under 32 points came on January 22, 2007 when they defeated Canton South at home 49-25.
West Branch (6-8, 3-6) was led by Jeremy Gorby who scored a team-high 11 points. TJ DeShields also finished with 8 points & 3 assists, Mike Boosz scored 4, and Brett Butcher scored 4 points & tallied 3 assists.
With the victory, the Leopards have now won 7 straight against the Warriors. Louisville now leads the all-time series 53-24.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Alliance to take on the Aviators on Tuesday, January 26. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
