Polar Bears Rally to Stun Leopards 6-5

Jackson rallied from a 4-1 deficit before Autumn Heaton delivered a walk-off double in the seventh inning to give the Polar Bears a 6-5 victory over the visiting Leopards. With the loss, Louisville falls to 6-4 on the season.

Heaton cracked a 2-run homer in the sixth inning to give Jackson their only lead of the contest at 5-4. However, Katie Cozy led off the top half of the seventh with a triple and Annie Woolf batted her home to knot the game at 5-5.

Each of the Polar Bears first two batters reached base in the last of the seventh before Heaton batted in Kayla Marburger for the winning run. Annie Denke also hit a 2-run home run in the fifth inning to get Jackson within a run. Kelsey Putnam also drove in Marburger earlier for the only other Polar Bears run.

Woolf led the Lady Leopards by going 2 for 3 with 2 runs batted in. Emily Cantley also drove in 2 runs and Cozy had the only other RBI on a Sac Fly in the third. Cozy & Grace Jackson each smacked triples and scored 2 runs a piece. Jackson and Amy Hoover also had multi-hit games.

With the loss, Louisville has now dropped 3 of the last 4 games against Jackson. The Polar Bears now lead the all-time series 27-11.
