Jon Crank went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI’s, Connor Ruffier scored twice, & Mike Kelly pitched a complete game to lead the Leopards in the first game and Bryan Adams also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s in the second game.
Annie Woolf went a combined 5-for-6 with a 2-run homer, double, 5 RBIs, and 5 runs in Louisville’s 11-1 & 9-0 victories over the Green Bulldogs Saturday. Gianna Falcone also pitched a 7-inning shutout in game two.
Mackenzie Rankin took 2nd in the long jump, Nick Thomas took 2nd in the 1600 meter run, & the 4×800 meter relay team of Chad Gentry, Garrett Dasco, Steven Stamp, & Tony Stevens took 2nd as well.
Lady Leopards softball is 24-27 all-time in tournament play and has captured 3 Division I & 6 Division II Sectional Titles in their history. See a Breakdown of their entire history.
Doubles winners for Louisville included the teams of Vince Burwell & Daniel Thompson and Michael Thomas & Ryan Shepherd. The win is the Quakers first ever win over the Leopards after previously suffering eight straight defeats.
Eight different Leopards provided RBI’s and eight different Leopards also scored during Louisville’s 13-2 NBC victory over visiting Carrollton. Riley Groves earned the victory on the mound and is now 7-0 for the season.
Louisville’s 9-2 win over West Branch gives them their 4th straight outright NBC Title & their third straight 20-win season. Jordan Monnot had a 3-run homer off the scoreboard in the fifth.
Ryan Shepherd & Michael Thomas recorded a doubles victory, but Louisville still fell to Green 4-1 snapping a 14-game winning streak. Only the 17-0 1979 team had more consecutive wins in a season.
The boys won a lob-sided 96-32 victory to move to 4-2 on the season and the girls team also blew out the Aviators 109-19 to improved their unbeaten mark to 6-0.
