The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Massillon Tigers 79-59 Friday Night at Louisville High School. With their third straight victory, Louisville improves to 17-2 heading into the tournament draw this weekend.

Nigro Pours in Game High 23 to Lead Leopards
Senior guard Hayden Nigro made 10 field goals and finished with a game high 23 points to lead the Leopards. He registered 9 points in the first period alone as Louisville took control of the game early and never looked back.
The Leopards blasted out to a 9-0 lead and pulled ahead 23-4. Louisville led 25-7 at the end of the first and took a 47-31 lead into the break. The Leopards also outscored the Tigers 15-10 in the third to pull ahead 62-41. Massillon outscored Louisville 18-17 in the fourth as the Leopards substituted throughout the period before cruising to victory.
Four Finish in Double Figures for Louisville
A trio of Louisville juniors also finished in double figures Friday. Point guard Beau Siegfried made a pair of three-pointers and dropped in 15. Forward Brayden Gross scored in every quarter and finished with 12. Guard Avery Andrejcik also scored 8 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to end his evening in double digits.
Other scores for the Leopards included junior guard Tate Aljancic with 9, junior guard Ashton Marshall with 8, and junior post Kolton Loy with 2.
Thigpen Scores Team High 19 for Tigers
Sophomore guard Jadyce Thigpen made a pair of three-pointers and scored a team high 19 to lead the Tigers. Senior forward Dre’Shaun Jackson also scored 14 points and freshman guard Xavier Williams hit double figures with 10.
Massillon has now lost 4 of their last 5 contests and drops to 11-7 on the season with the loss.
Louisville Wins 6th Straight Over Massillon
The Leopards have now defeated the Tigers in 6 consecutive matchups dating back to 2017, which includes the last 3 games in the series played at LHS.
Massillon still leads the all-time series 17-11 dating back to their first recorded meeting in the 1933 sectional tournament. The Tigers hold a 6-5 edge in games played at Louisville in the series.
