Cole Wins Malone Invitational for Louisville – Cross Country
The Louisville Leopards Cross Country Teams competed at the Malone Invitational Saturday Morning on the campus of Malone University. The Lady Leopards placed 2nd and the Louisville Boys took 8th.
Boys – 196 (8th Out of 14)
The Leopards finished with 196 total places to take 8th out of 14 schools in the invitational. The GlenOak Golden Eagles blew away the field to take first with 57 total places. The New Philadelphia Quakers were a distant second with 101 total places, the Wooster Generals finished just behind them with 102 total places, and the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers captured fourth with 105 total places.
The Louisville runners were paced by Sebastian Hendricks who captured 25th place with a time of 17:35.7. The Leopards Miklos Hendricks also finished just behind him in 26th with a mark of 17:37.0.
Rounding out the Louisville top five were Scott Gronow (18:03.4) in 39th, Logan Ison (18:41.1) in 52nd, and Josh Schloneger (19:05.5) taking 61st. Other LHS Varsity Runners included Robert Duncan (73rd) and Nathaniel Joseph (75th) in a field of 112 competitors.
Girls – 51 (2nd Out of 7)
The Lady Leopards finished with 51 total places to finish in 2nd place out of 7 competing schools. The GlenOak Golden Eagles won the invitational tallying 48 total places. The Wadsworth Grizzlies took third place with 52 total places, one behind LHS.
Individually, Louisville’s Morgan Cole won the Division I race convincingly with a time of 19:22.0. Wadsworth’s Payton Grigsby (19:45.5) finished over 23 seconds behind Cole in second place. Cassidy Kiko also took ninth to help lead the Leopards with a time of 20:20.3
Other top runners for Louisville included Grace Collins (20:50.4) in 12th, Iris Menagay (21:01.6) in 13th, and Caitlyn Gata (21:49.9) in 16th. Rounding out the Lady Leopards Varsity were Elena Eimer (29th), Sydney McKeever (31st), Karli Miller (32nd), Nicole Israel (35th), and Emma Patterson (42nd) in a field of 61 total runners.
