Louisville Bests Lake and Wadsworth in Tri-Match – Girls Golf
Louisville 161, Wadsworth 195, Lake 196
The Louisville Leopards Girls Golf Team bested both the visiting Wadsworth Grizzlies 161-195 and the host Lake Blue Streaks 161-196 in a tri-match at Sable Creek Golf Course Thursday. With the pair of victories, Louisville improves to 12-1 on the year.
Junior Madison Gruber shot a 38 to finish as match medalist. Sophomore Erin Strouse also finished ahead of all the opposition by carding a 39. Katie Bice and Maddy Fowler rounded out the Lady Leopards top four scorers by shooting 42 each. Other Varsity participants were not far behind with Alexis Ralston shooting a 43 and Abby Davis tallying a 44.
The host Blue Streaks were led by Olivia Swain who shot a team best 41. Other Lake top scorers included Katie Potashnick 43, Anja Benson 54, and Anna Labbe 56. The Lady Leopards have now won 4 straight over the Lady Streaks including the last 3 matches played at Sable Creek. Louisville now leads the all-time series over Lake 7-3 with a 4-1 mark on the road in the series.
The Grizzlies were led by Madie Ketzell who shot a team low 46. Rounding out the Wadsworth top scorers were Abby Thomas 47, Arie Ohlson 50, and Kylie Kaser 52. This was the first ever meeting between the Leopards and Grizzlies.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will stay on the road for their next match against the Canton Central Crusaders on Monday, September 9. Tee-time is set for 4:00 PM from Elms Country Club.
