The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team earned a 71-61 road victory against the host South Range Raiders in their season opener Saturday Night at South Range High School.

Nigro Scores Game High 28

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSenior guard Hayden Nigro scored 18 of his game high 28 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. He hit 11 shots from the field and finished 6 of 10 from the free throw stripe. Nigro also finished with 12 points in the final stanza to help Louisville close the deal.

Junior forward Brayden Gross scored all 12 of his points in the first half before sustaining an injury in the second quarter. Junior point guard Beau Siegfried also added 9 and junior guard Ashton Marshall tacked on 8.


Leopards Take 12-0 Lead Out of the Gate

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieThe Leopards stormed into the new season by scoring the first 12 points of the contest. They would maintain that lead throughout the opening stanza in taking a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Louisville would add to their lead in the second and third quarter. The Leopards led 38-24 at halftime and pulled ahead 53-38 at the end of the third. South Range would outscore Louisville 23-18 in the fourth quarter to cut the final margin to 10 as LHS cruised to victory.


Moore Drops in 25 for Raiders

Senior Landon Moore scored 10 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Raiders.

Junior Nate Lewis and senior Dylan Turvey also scored 12 each to round out the top scorers for South Range. 


Louisville Now 3-0 Vs. South Range

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Leopards are now 3-0 against the Raiders all-time, winning in each of the past three seasons. Louisville is now 2-0 all-time when playing at South Range. They also won at South Range 61-39 back on December 3, 2021.
